Breaking Point: Bailing on the Bailout Boys

Breaking Point: Bailing on the Bailout Boys .
The Last Straw

I have been working as a volunteer with the Obama campaign since the early primaries.

I have read his books, made countless phone calls on his behalf and contributed money towards his campaign. I attended campaign leadership training for Obama here in Michigan.

I held my tongue when he called for a "united Jerusalem" under Israeli control before a pro-Israeli lobby group in the U.S.

I even hung in there through his vote to approve FISA.

But the multi-billion dollar Wall Street bailout plan was the last straw. To me, this was a defining issue. It let me know who stands where. (My congressman and one of my senators voted against the legislation.)

The arrogance of those elected "representatives" who believe they know better than the American people what is best for them astounds me. (I have degrees in economics and law and taught undergraduate college level economics— my opposition to this legislation was not just a knee-jerk reaction.)

This single issue may well form the rallying point for the emergence of a strong "third party" that truly changes American politics.

I would like to be a part of making that happen.

Wall Street Bailout

I am appalled at the current situation our Govt. finds itself in. I have always paid my bills and if needed worked up to 3 jobs at one time to pay my bills. My husband retired from the A.F. Reserve and U.S. Govt. service and went back to school and recieved his MBA in Business. He now teaches at 3 local colleges both online and in the classroom. I work as a Home Health Nurse. We have a student loan that is about 68,000.00. We are both over 50 years of age and would never think of asking the Govt. to bail us out of that responsibility. Why now, are we being asked to bail out our govt? We are also being asked to trust the same people who put us in this situation, to bail us out. That is an outrage! Mr. Nader, this will be the 3rd time that I and my husband will be voting for you in Nov. It is an outrage you will not be allowed to participate in these so called debates. What debate is it when they know the questions and have rehearsed thier answers. We appreciate your fighting for people like us. Keep up the goodwork. We love you and appreciate all you stand for.
