Polls Show Support for Independent Nader/Gonzalez Ticket

Ralph Nader will bring his independent presidential campaign to Waterbury, CT Sunday April 27 with a 6:00 pm rally at Cass Gilbert Building (across from Waterbury City Hall), 193 Grand St. Call 203-430-9342 to RSVP and help. General admission, $10 contribution.

"Connecticut has its share of urban poverty, inadequate public transit, the uninsured, toxic waste and losses of jobs to overseas dictatorships," said Mr. Nader. Mr. Nader will address issues major party candidates have taken "off the table" that the Nader/Gonzalez campaign has put on the table, including:

Polling shows Mr. Nader's support is stronger than during his 2004 run for the presidency.

A Zogby International poll in March showed Mr. Nader receiving 5-6 percent. (http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1467)

A national poll by Fox News in March found 14 percent of voters would "seriously consider voting" for Mr. Nader, including 10 percent of Democrats, 14 percent of Republicans, and 21 percent of independents. (http://www.foxnews.com/projects/pdf/032008_release_web.pdf)

An April 3-8 poll conducted in Michigan by Lansing-based EPIC-MRA showed Mr. Nader receiving 8 percent to 10 percent. (http://tinyurl.com/5n9ayx)

An April 15 Nader/Gonzalez campaign statement said these polls show "we're on our way up. It has been our contention all along that the corrupt two-party system cannot stand."
